Home burglary can have a major impact on your sense of security. There have been strangers in your house, they have been attached to your possessions and may have taken valuables with them.

What does De Key do about safety?

We ensure good doors and locks. Cameras have been installed in some large residential complexes. The main reason for this is to increase the sense of security and to detect and prevent vandalism. We create safety together, every resident contributes to this.

We are happy to give you some useful tips to prevent home burglary.

How can you reduce the risk of burglary?

• Always double lock your door(s).
• Close windows and close the curtains as soon as you leave your home.
•  Do not let strangers in. Don't open up for someone you don't expect or know!
•  Report broken doors and windows to your (student) caretaker or RA.
•  Hiding your keys outside is not handy. Doormats are not "secret" places;
•  Do not attach an address label to your key (forest). Make sure you do not have a large amount of money at home;
•  Provide sufficient lighting to your home;
• Make sure there are no ladders, containers or other aids at your home that make it easy to climb inside;
•  Inform your neighbors when you go on vacation, they can keep an eye on your house and make sure that your home looks 'inhabited'.
