Internet

There are two internet options:

  1. Wired internet in your room
  2. Wi-Fi network

The Wi-Fi is a supportive network, it can be slower during rush hours and/or in certain part of the building. If you want a constant Wi-Fi network we recommend you create your own Wi-Fi with the wired connection in your room.

Wired internet in your room

Follow these steps to connect to the wired internet connection in your room:

  • Connect your computer with a UTP network cable to the wall outlet in your room. Bring your own or buy your own cable that is suited for your device. De Key does not provide cables!
  • Boot your computer and go to www.google.com.
  • You will be prompted to read and agree to the rules of engagement of the internet provider.
  • Fill out the requested information (you need your tenancy agreement number).
  • Reboot your computer and you are ready to go.

Wi-Fi network

We offer two supportive Wi-Fi networks in the common kitchens at this location:

  1. Eduroam (international wifi network for universities)
  2. Ziggo_ittdesk

To connect to Eduroam:

  • UvA students: Log in to your UvA-ID and complete the installation.
